Dear Ashok, Can I get some more information on the above subject such as : a. Type of gears - helical/spur..etc.( helical gear system tends to show more excitation in the axial direction, spur gears in the radial dir.) b. Is the back lash and gear meshing clearance within the specified tolerance? c. What's the fundamental freq.? Is it LS or HS GMF? Does it have harmonics or 1x side bands/sum and difference freq. around it? (Take a zoom spectrum around this defect freq. for more precise evaluation) d. How many numbers of lobes are there in the pump, and is there any transmitted lobe mesh freq. visible in the GB spectrum? e. How's the physical acoustic behaviour of the Gear Box? Do they emit any HF noise? Hope, the above will lead to a 'point blank' diagnosis. Regards.Sajeev
