Sometimes large motors have resonance problems in the axial direction on the endbells. Have you done a bump test for natural frequencies? Why such a large range in the axial levels? Does it vary with load? When you say rotor bar frequencies are you referring to the #rotor bars X RPM? The mere appearance of this frequency (Rotor Bar Pass Frequency) and several harmonics does not mean there are rotor bar problems. Many motors in excellent condition show these frequencies all the time, so I would not be concerned about it's presence at low levels. These frequencies usually only indicate a problem if the amplitude is consistently growing. Skip Hartman
